The Cyberinfrastructure connects computer scientists with physicists to provide creative solutions to numerical methods challenges, interface various MUSES modules, develop MUSES web-tools and services, create a comprehensive application programming interface (API) for MUSES clients and implement an API server, and design a scalable, high-availability, and container-based deployment system that can be reproduced in other computing environments.
The working group is developing interoperating tools and services within a replicable and flexible deployment system, built around a core scientific Calculation Engine that can generate the Equation of State across the entire Quantum Chromodynamics phase diagram and compute byproducts of this Equation of State that are of use to various scientific communities. Although proprietary software exists to do subsets of these calculations in small regions of the Quantum Chromodynamics phase-diagram, currently no open-source software package exists with these capabilities.
